Ballinkeele Manor House is both homely and gracious, it is not a Hotel or a Country Inn. It is a family home offering guests peace and tranquility and the opportunity to enjoy luxury accommodation and hospitality of a more gentler age.
It is an ideal situation for business people to have a business meeting over dinner in a relaxing atmosphere with accommodation. Food alergies are catered for and dislikes.
The Maher family has been farming Ballinkeele since 1808. The Estate was bought in 1825 and the present house built in 1840.
Ballinkeele is annually refurbished, 2007 worked carried out; we have changed the last Superior bedroom bathroom by putting in a bath with shower.Now we have three Superior bedrooms all with bath and shower en-suite and two Delux bedrooms one has shower only and the other has bath.There are good quality carpets, throughout the guest accommodation. The garden and places to walk for the guest is gaining more intereset as more paths are being worked on and arround the Laundry pond, we have the lake refilled and hope to have course fishing for guests sometime this year. Ballinkeele.House is perfect for family gatherings or old friends getogether, you will be most welcome.
Ballinkeele is ideally situated for visiting a wide range of historic and archaeological sites and gardens. Kilkenny, Waterford, the Wicklow Mountains and Dublin are all within easy reach and there are six golf courses within one hour’s drive, and riding stables just 30 minutes drive. One of John and Margaret’s large breakfasts will set you up for a day of exploration or for your special activity be it fishing, golf, riding, walking or go for a cycle.
Should you prefer to spend your days at Ballinkeele House you can play croquet, cards or chess, or simply put your feet up and read.
You can be assured that when staying at Ballinkeele you will sleep well, eat well, leave with a feeling of well-being and perhaps even a few regrets at having to leave our little haven of peace.......but you can always come back again!
